Breath of Solace: Broderick 6

Breath of solace.

When you enter an abandoned building, you are immediately aware that it is more than just a building. The building seems to breath a stale breath of antiquity. You can feel the intake, the hold and the exhale. Some say that these are the breaths of all of the people who once populated the building; I like to think that the building itself is breathing.

This series of photographs are from an exploration of David Broderick Tower, who closed its doors in 1985. While many of the photos are different, they are all held together by the breath running throughout them.
